About Loddon Campaspe
The Loddon Campaspe area in central Victoria is expansive and diverse and includes the municipalities of Campaspe, Central Goldfields, Greater Bendigo, Loddon, Macedon Ranges and Mount Alexander.
The area encompasses land traditionally owned by several Aboriginal clans including the Dja Dja Wurrung, Yorta Yorta, Taungurung, Baraba Baraba and Wurundjeri.
It is renowned for its unique and varied landscapes, from the undulating foothills to the riverine plains and the wooded escarpments of the Great Dividing Range.
History and culture
Bendigo, one of Victoria’s largest and fastest growing regional cities, lies in the heart of the area and is a prosperous and vibrant hub of cultural and economic activity.
Noted for its ornate Victorian-era buildings, Bendigo is rich in history, progressive and contemporary, boasting a world-class art gallery and hosting a number of cultural festivals and events that attract thousands of people each year.
About 30-minutes’ drive south is Castlemaine. This bustling town is renowned for its rich gold rush history, eclectic arts scene, and growing reputation as a fine food destination.
The town features a famous botanical gardens and fascinating array of museums, galleries, craft shops and antique stores, with a local boutique wineries and historic gold mines, diggings and ruins dotted throughout the area.

Area teams also build and maintain strong connections between central and regional offices and the communities they service, so that positive outcomes are delivered where they matter most.
