School Readiness Funding menu

The School Readiness Funding Menu of Evidence-Informed Programs and Supports (the Menu) addresses the three priority areas for School Readiness Funding:

  • communication (language development)
  • wellbeing (social and emotional)
  • access and inclusion.

Each Menu item contains a description, information about the cost, its application in a kindergarten setting and its alignment to the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF).

Find out how to use this Menu and guidance for kindergarten services to spend School Readiness Funding.

Temporary ‘Home Learning Support’

The Victorian Government has advised that all ECEC services across Victoria will be closed except to children whose parents/carers are Authorised Workers and for vulnerable children.

The temporary ’Home Learning Support’ item has been reinstated on the School Readiness Funding (SRF) menu to enable services to access and employ a range of home learning supports. This allows services to use up to $5,000 or up to 25 per cent (whichever is higher) of the total service-level 2021 School Readiness Funding allocation to support children and families to learn from home during this period.

The ‘Home Learning Support’ menu item can provide a range of supports including:

  • guidance for families to continue their child’s learning from home
  • assisting families to set-up and follow a daily routine
  • providing access to online learning supports
  • providing access to physical learning resources
  • supports designed for a group of children, a sub-group of children or an individual child and their family.

If services would like to use the ‘Home Learning Support’ menu item, they do not need to update the School Readiness Funding plan(s) for your services, however, record-keeping will be required so that service can account for expenditure in the End-of-Year-Acquittal. Our local Early Childhood Implementation Branches can be contacted to provide further support and advice.

Learning from Home provides further advice and resources to support service’s planning.

How to be included on the Menu
