A teacher's perspective on the learning
Bacchus Marsh Primary School teacher Alli Grant recently facilitated a Supporting students with autism course for her school colleagues after completing the course herself last year.
‘What many teachers may not realise is the techniques you learn don’t just benefit children with diverse learning needs but are fantastic for all children,’ Alli said.
‘Simple things like changing the layout of your classroom, visual timetables and how you approach your teaching – I found all of the children in my class benefitted as there were less distractions and stimuli, making the classroom much calmer.’
