for the new program designed to advance teaching expertise close 15 September
Are you a committed highly capable teacher? Do you thrive when surrounded with colleagues who are curious and seek to advance their knowledge and expertise to the highest level?
If this is you, consider applying for a place in the inaugural Teaching Excellence Program (TEP) and support you and your discipline area to grow into the future.
Commencing in 2022, the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership will deliver the TEP, a one-year initiative aimed at developing exceptional teachers from Victorian government, Catholic and independent schools.
In an Australian-first, the TEP will provide an opportunity for highly skilled teachers from all sectors to collaborate, learn and develop their skills in service to students and communities across Victoria.
What's on offer
The TEP enables exceptional teachers to advance their expertise through access to the latest research, explorations in the science of learning and discipline-based pedagogical content knowledge.
Teachers who participate in the program will:
- learn alongside leaders in the profession, with access to local and global subject matter experts and academics
- develop ongoing connections as part of an expert cross-sector network
- create, explore and test new and emerging practice and build advanced skills in a teaching specialisation.
The TEP offers exposure to contemporary research and teaching strategies. Graduates will become an Academy Fellow and have opportunities to apply for Academy Master Teacher roles and fellowships, to deepen practitioner inquiry research.
Developed in conjunction with representatives from Catholic and independent sectors, the program is open to teachers from all schools across Victoria.
Applications for the TEP are now open with the program to begin in Term 1, 2022.
To apply, complete the online form on the TEP web page.
Applications close Wednesday 15 September.
