Expressions of interest are now open for next year's State Schools Spectacular
School expressions of interest to participate in the mass choir, dance or specialty act areas of the 2021 Victorian State Schools Spectacular program are now open.
Student registrations are also open for main cast auditions or behind-the-scenes roles.
Information on scheduling and how to register for the 2021 State Schools Spectacular is available below, along with an update on this year's event.
All schools are encouraged to consider taking part in this important annual event. The State Schools Spectacular program involves industry partnership and mentoring opportunities for students that help them to develop performance skills, resilience, perseverance, cooperation and confidence over months of training in a non-competitive environment.
The 2021 State Schools Spectacular is currently scheduled for Saturday 11 September 2021 and will be broadcast at a later date on TV.
Plans for the 2021 event may still be subject to change, in line with advice from the Victorian Chief Health Officer and the Department of Health and Human Services in relation to coronavirus (COVID-19).
To register, schools and students should complete the online form by Friday 13 November.
Registrations are an expression of interest only and can be withdrawn if a school is unable to participate.

2020 Spectacular update
The performance approach for the 2020 State Schools Spectacular was adapted quickly in response to coronavirus (COVID-19).
The well-established annual schedule that culminates in an arena-style event was adapted into made-for-TV event that is planned for broadcast later this year.
The Department will provide more information about the broadcast via In Our Classrooms, when details are confirmed.
