An online opportunity for students to engage with Australian authors, build literacy skills and enhance their love of reading
The Department of Education and Training has partnered with the Young Australian Best Book Awards (YABBA) to provide 10 free online interactive sessions with popular children's authors.
All registered schools will have access to the live virtual author sessions, giving students an interactive experience with books. Featured authors between Terms 2 and 4 include:
- George Ivanoff, author of the Gamers Trilogy & You Choose Series
- Mark Smith, author of Road to Winter
- Rebecca Johnson, author of Juliet the Vet and Online Vet Convention.
The Virtual Author Sessions are run through WebEx allowing multiple schools to log in to participate. Questions for authors and illustrators for each session are moderated by the classroom teacher before submission.
